The complete title of the work is Las tres jornadas del cielo. Via Purgativa, Iluminativa, i Unitiva. Significadas en Gemidos, Deseos, ì Suspiros. Ordenadas en metrica consonancia, para mas suave armonia al corazon, por el R. P. Fr. Juan de Peralta, del Orden de N. P. S. Francisco, de la Recoleccion de la Provincia de los Doce Apostoles del Perû, Predicador General, varias veces Guardian, i Ex-Difinidor de ella, i natural de la Ciudad de Lima. It was printed in the City of Kings at the San Christoval Plazuela Press.

It is a work of mystical inspiration in a poetic code written by the the Franciscan  Juan Joseph de Peralta. Printed in the mid-eighteenth century, it goes back to the religious lyrics of Fray Luis de León and San Juan de la Cruz and maintains the validity of mystical poetry two centuries after its apogee in the Iberian world.
