Novus Orbis, sive, Descriptio Indiae Occidentalis, by Antonio de Herrera

Authors: Antonio de Herrera

The first Madrid edition (1601) of the work of Antonio de Herrera reached special relevance in Europe thanks to this Latin translation of Gaspar Barlaeus, published in Amsterdam in 1622. This extended version includes in the second part the description of the Danish navigator Jacob Le Marie whose journey through Terra Australis took place between 1615 and 1617. Here you will find three additional maps to the edition of 1601.
