This website offers a collection of old maps of practically the whole world. Just by choosing a place, a series of maps will appear in the right section of the screen, from the oldest to the newest. The images on the maps offer direct links to the collections that host them or have them digitized.

Old Maps Online was developed from the love of history and the heritage of ancient maps. The project started as a collaboration between Klokan Technologies GmbH, Switzerland and The Great Britain Historical GIS Project located at the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom thanks to the CSAC funding. Since January 2013, the project is improved and maintained by volunteers and the Klokan Technologies GmbH team in their spare time.
