Vinatea

Martina Vinatea holds the position of principal professor within the Department of Humanities at the University of the Pacific. She obtained her Doctorate in History from the University of Navarra, a Doctorate in Hispanic Philology from the National University of Distance Education (UNED-Madrid), and completed her Bachelor’s and master’s degrees in literature at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.

Currently, she serves as the head of the Academic Department of Humanities at the University of the Pacific, where she also directs the research group “Estudios Indianos, Universidad del Pacífico – Universidad de Navarra.”

She is a member of several editorial teams, including co-editor of the Bulletin of the Peruvian Academy of Language (Q1), director of the Indiana Library at Ibero-American Vervuert publishing house, advisory board member of the Hipogrifo Journal, coordinator of the Indiana Section of the journal (Q1), sub-director (Series Project Indian Studies (PEI), Batihoja Collection, Institute of Aurisecular Studies), and advisory board member of the collection “El fuego nuevo. Textos recobrados” at Ibero-American Vervuert.

Her recent publications focus on Hispanic and viceregal peruvian conventual female poetry, clandestine satirical poetry, and the works of poets from the Antarctic Academy.
